Casual Courier Driver — $21.50/hr

Our company in Cranbrook, BC is hiring casual couriers to pick up and deliver packages on an assigned route. You work flexible shifts, with at least 4 shifts a month, and the posting lists pay of $21.50 per hour.

What you'll do

• Collect and deliver packages along your route, keeping a professional, tidy appearance

• Check that each shipment meets service rules and is labelled correctly, and keep paperwork accurate

• Load your van, plan an efficient route, and keep packages and equipment secure

• Record stop counts and missorts, and use the company's tracking and dispatch systems

• Answer customer questions about services and pass sales leads to the sales team

• When needed, help load or unload aircraft or containers and sort and scan packages

Pay and schedule

• $21.50 per hour (the description body also mentions $24)

• Casual position with flexible shifts; you must be available for at least 4 shifts per month

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Valid driver's license (for example Class 5, G or 1 [AZ]) and a clean record: no more than two violations or accidents in the last 24 months

• Pass the pre-placement driver assessment training

• Able to lift 70 lbs and handle packages up to 150 lbs with the right equipment

• A year of customer-focused work experience is preferred; knowledge of our company Canada operations and customs rules is an asset

• Good communication, time management and customer service skills
