About this job
Our company, an expedited freight carrier based in Atlanta, GA, is looking for an independent contractor to run a 26-foot straight box truck on East Coast routes. This is a 1099 position, and you'll be away from home for one to two weeks at a stretch.
Pay
- Paid weekly, based on 20 to 25% of the revenue each completed load brings in
- Most drivers bring home between $3,200 and $5,000 a month
- A $750 retention bonus is paid once you hit 90 days
What you'll haul
- You'll drive a 26-foot straight box truck and handle a pallet jack, so you need to already know how to use both
- Routes run mainly up and down the East Coast
Requirements
- A valid driver's license (Class A preferred, though not mandatory based on the role title, but note the license field below requires CDL A - confirm with the employer)
- At least one year behind the wheel of a 26-foot straight box truck
- Over-the-road driving background
- A current DOT physical card
- Minimum age of 35, per the company's insurance requirements
- A clean motor vehicle record covering the past 5 years
- Willing and able to be on the road full time
