About this job
Our company in Indianapolis, IN is hiring a box truck driver to deliver freight safely and on schedule. You will run assigned routes with GPS, and the work can be local or over-the-road depending on operational needs.
Pay
- $1,000.00 - $2,000.00 per week
What you'll do
- Drive a box truck on your assigned routes, following the route plan and GPS directions.
- Load, unload and secure freight using safe lifting methods, and confirm cargo and delivery paperwork.
- Follow DOT and FMCSA rules, plus hazardous materials and dangerous goods rules on loads where they apply.
- Inspect your vehicle, flag any maintenance or safety problems, and quickly report delays or delivery issues.
- If you are qualified and assigned, you may also work with tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers or auto transport.
Experience and requirements
- Delivery or commercial driving experience is preferred.
- Safe driving habits and comfort with route driving matter; manual transmission experience is an asset.
- Freight loading and unloading experience helps.
- Hazmat experience or knowledge of the regulations is preferred for some assignments.
- You must meet the licensing and regulatory requirements for the vehicle and routes you are assigned.
