About this job
Our company in Mississauga, ON needs an AZ truck driver to haul freight on the road, handling loading, paperwork and vehicle checks along the way.
What you'll do
- Drive commercial trucks on scheduled routes, following traffic laws, safety rules and company procedures to deliver freight on time
- Load and unload cargo with a forklift or other equipment, making sure it's secured properly
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks, flag any maintenance or safety issues, and handle minor repairs yourself when needed
- Fill out delivery paperwork correctly, including manifests, bills of lading and inspection forms
- Stay in touch with dispatch, clients and coworkers to keep deliveries on track and sort out problems as they come up
- Keep the truck clean inside and out
- Help out in the warehouse when needed, including forklift work
Requirements
- Valid AZ license with a clean driving record
- Previous experience driving commercial trucks, ideally hauling freight
- Comfortable operating a forklift and other heavy equipment
- Basic know-how for troubleshooting minor vehicle problems
- Able to lift heavy loads, climb in and out of the cab, and stand for long stretches
- Good communicator who puts safety first
- High school diploma or equivalent; certifications in heavy equipment are a bonus
Pay
Starts at $2,200.00 per week.
