About this job
Our company is looking for an AZ driver to deliver product to McDonald's restaurants in Oshawa, ON. You'll haul a 48'-53' tractor trailer, help unload at each stop and represent the company with strong customer service.
What you'll do
- Operate a tractor trailer safely and professionally on your delivery route
- Take responsibility for the equipment and freight assigned to you
- Check your truck before dispatch to confirm it's fueled, inspected and road-ready
- Secure the vehicle and confirm the refrigeration unit is running at the end of each loading shift
- Hook up, stage and secure trailers daily according to the route schedule
- Complete required paperwork and daily equipment inspections
- Follow company Health and Safety rules and report any injuries or incidents promptly
- Help maintain security of equipment and the staging area
- Follow DOT rules and company procedures, along with Safe Food for Canadians Regulations (SFCR), Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) standards, and Good Warehouse/Driving Practices (GWP/GDP)
- Take on other assigned tasks as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of experience driving as a licensed Class A/AZ or Class 1 professional driver
- Experience hauling 48'-53' tractor trailers
- Able to lift and move boxes weighing up to 55 lbs
- Strong work ethic, time management and problem-solving skills
- Good communication and interpersonal abilities, and a team-oriented mindset
- Self-motivated with leadership qualities
- Must pass a post-offer background check and drug test
