About this job
Our company Canada Inc. in Paris, ON is hiring an AZ driver for a 12-month contract to deliver high-pressure cylinders and liquid gas containers to customer sites using a tractor-trailer.
What you'll haul
- High-pressure cylinders and liquid containers delivered to customer locations
- You'll count and log quantities and types to match shipping documents
- Vehicle must be checked and placarded under Transportation of Dangerous Goods rules
What the job involves
- Loading and unloading cylinders of varying sizes and weights
- Pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any defects to your supervisor
- Completing shipping orders, trip reports, fuel tickets, and other paperwork
- Following safety and operating procedures at all times
- Flagging repair or maintenance needs promptly to minimize downtime
Requirements
- At least 2 years of AZ driving experience; DOT driving experience is a plus
- Valid, incident-free provincial driver's license with an air brake endorsement
- Able to lift up to 60 pounds on a regular basis
- Comfortable handling cylinders of different sizes and weights
- Mechanical aptitude is helpful
- Knowledge of compressed gas handling is an asset
- Training in Transportation of Dangerous Goods and WHMIS is an asset
