About this job
Our company is looking for an experienced AZ tanker driver to run freight between Ontario and Quebec out of Mississauga. You'll handle hazardous products like CO2 and cryogenic gases, so prior tanker and hazmat-type experience matters here.
Schedule
- Full-time, working Tuesday through Friday
- Start times vary depending on the route
What you'll haul
- Freight moving across Ontario and Quebec
- Tanker loads including hazardous products such as CO2 or cryogenic gases, handled per safety and regulatory rules
What the job involves
- Driving company vehicles safely on Ontario and Quebec routes, making pickups and deliveries on time
- Running tanker equipment according to company and regulatory standards
- Doing full pre-trip and post-trip inspections (tires, brakes, lights, cargo securement) and flagging any problems to maintenance right away
- Keeping accurate e-logs, inspection reports, delivery paperwork and incident reports
- Following hours-of-service rules and all safety procedures
- Staying flexible for schedule changes, overtime, weekend work or overnight runs when operations require it
Requirements
- Valid AZ license
- Bondable and legally able to work in Canada
- Clean CVOR and driver's abstract
- Recent commercial driving experience, verifiable within the last 3 months to 1 year
- Solid knowledge of road safety rules, hours-of-service regulations and load securement
- Comfortable driving commercial vehicles in winter conditions
- Able to accurately handle eLogs, inspection reports and delivery documentation
- Good customer service and communication skills, with a safety-first mindset
- At least 1 year of verifiable tanker experience
- At least 3 years of verifiable AZ driving experience
- Experience hauling hazardous or regulated products
