About this job
Our company is looking for Class 1 AZ drivers to run Western regional routes out of their Edmonton terminal. You'll haul freight on dedicated lanes with a truck assigned just to you, no slip-seating.
Routes
- Main lanes: Edmonton to BC, Edmonton to Fort McMurray, and Edmonton to the Prairies (SK/MB)
- Typically 2-3 pickups and drop-offs per run
- Consistent, year-round mileage with home time built into the schedule
Pay
- $0.60 per mile base rate
- $25-$50 extra per pickup/drop on multi-stop loads
- Paid for layover and detention time
- Paid bi-weekly by direct deposit
- Annual pay range: $70,000.00-$110,000.00
What you'll haul
You'll run a dedicated tractor on regional freight, handling pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires and other key systems), loading and unloading cargo (sometimes with a forklift), securing loads properly, and keeping accurate paperwork like delivery logs, bills of lading and inspection reports. You'll stay in touch with dispatch on routing, scheduling and any issues on the road, and may need to handle basic repairs or troubleshooting to keep your truck running safely.
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 AZ license with a clean driving record
- At least 2 years of commercial driving experience in regional or cross-border work
- Minimum age 25, with a clean abstract
- Familiarity with heavy equipment and basic vehicle repair is a plus
- Solid grasp of safety practices for freight and equipment handling
