AZ Long-Haul Truck Driver — $37.00/hr

Our company in Bolton, ON is looking for an experienced truck driver to run long-haul and cross-border routes, hauling freight including dangerous goods.

Pay

• $37.00 per hour

• Full-time, permanent position

What you'll haul

• General freight on national, long-haul and international routes

• Dangerous goods shipments

• Cargo that may require tarping and securing

The job

• Operate straight or articulated trucks, sometimes as part of a two-person team or convoy

• Load and unload goods

• Complete pre-trip, en-route and post-trip vehicle inspections and basic preventive maintenance, including brake adjustments

• Check tires, lights, brakes, cold storage units and other equipment

• Handle required paperwork: logbooks, bills of lading, trip and inspection reports, maintenance records, accident and dangerous goods incident reports, and cross-border documents

• Obtain any special permits needed for international cargo

• Report in regularly to dispatch and track hours of service, distance and fuel use

• Arrange travel plans, itineraries and reservations as needed

• Provide professional, reliable customer service

Requirements

• AZ class licence

• Air Brakes endorsement

• Class 1 licence preferred

• 7 months to 1 year of relevant driving experience

• High school diploma or equivalent experience

• English language skills

• Comfortable with heavy lifting, long hours sitting, repetitive tasks and a physically demanding, high-workload role, including overtime

• Strong attention to detail, good judgment, organization, flexibility and teamwork
