About this job
Our company needs AZ Line Haul Drivers for its Solid Waste operation in Woodstock, ON. You'll run solid waste loads from transfer stations to landfills in Michigan, crossing the border daily, and be back home every night.
What you'll haul
- Daily cross-border trips hauling solid waste from transfer stations to landfills in Michigan
- Runs average roughly 600 to 1100 km per day, with shifts of 10 to 14 hours
- You'll drive late-model tractors and trailers on dedicated equipment, with an established e-log fleet
Schedule
- Home every night
- Saturday shifts are available if you want them
Training
- Paid training lasting two weeks, held in Ayr, ON
- You'll train one-on-one with an experienced driver coach
Requirements
- Valid AZ licence
- At least 3 years of AZ driving experience
- Comfortable crossing the US border in a commercial vehicle every day
- Strong backing skills
- Able to pass a clean driver's abstract, CVOR abstract, criminal background check, and DOT drug screening
- Familiarity with trucking rules covering hours of service, cargo handling, safety, customs, and vehicle weights and dimensions
- Waste hauling or heavy hauling experience is a plus, though not required
- Reliable, professional, and able to stay composed under pressure
On the job, you'll check your vehicle each day for mechanical or safety concerns, report any issues, accidents, or damage, and keep accurate trip logs and paperwork including fuel and toll receipts.
