About this job
Our company needs an AZ Line Haul Driver in London, ON to run solid waste freight daily into Michigan and back, with dedicated, late-model equipment and home every night.
What you'll haul
- Daily cross-border runs hauling solid waste from transfer stations to landfills in Michigan
- Routes run roughly 600-1100 km per day, with shifts of 10-14 hours
- You'll work with dedicated, late-model tractors and trailers and an experienced e-log fleet
Schedule
- You're home every night
- Optional Saturday shifts are available
Requirements
- Valid AZ license with at least 3 years of relevant driving experience
- Waste hauling experience is preferred; heavy hauling background is a plus
- Must be able to cross the US border daily in a commercial motor vehicle
- Strong backing skills required
- Clean driver's abstract, CVOR abstract, criminal background check and DOT drug testing required
- Solid knowledge of driving rules and regulations covering hours of service, cargo handling, safety, customs and vehicle weights/dimensions
- Reliable, professional, and able to stay composed under pressure in a fast-paced setting
On the job, you'll do daily pre-trip inspections, report any defects, accidents or damage, log your hours and distances in km through daily trip reports and e-logs per DOT and MTO rules, and keep your fuel, toll, and delivery receipts for paperwork.
