AZ Highway Driver — $0.56/mile + $27.59 at Customer Location

Erb Group, a family-owned refrigerated carrier operating across Canada and the U.S. for over 65 years, needs an AZ Highway Driver at its Thunder Bay, ON terminal. This is a part-time, on-call position with occasional overnight trips, moving temperature-controlled freight between terminals and customer locations.

Pay

• $0.56/mile

• $27.59 while at customer location

Schedule

• Part time, on call, with odd overnight trips

• Erb Group runs 24/7, with departures daily and times set by hours-of-service rules

• No fixed quitting time; your day can run up to the HOS limit

• You can bid on a posted run, awarded by seniority, or work as an open board driver taking whatever runs are dispatched

• Some slip seating may apply, and you'll need to be available for overnight runs and to operate DZ units

What you'll haul

• Perishable, temperature-controlled freight moved between Erb terminals and to customer delivery or pickup points

What the job involves

• Driving safely in all road, weather and temperature conditions

• Delivering on schedule and following company procedures

• Keeping dispatch updated on pickups, deliveries and any issues

• Completing pre-trip inspections and flagging maintenance needs to the shop

• Handling all required paperwork and making sure freight is correctly labeled

• Following hours-of-service and other rules in every jurisdiction you drive through

• Loading and unloading product safely and professionally

• Using the onboard telematics system for electronic logs and dispatch communication

• Attending driver safety meetings

Requirements

• Valid AZ/Class 1 license with at least 1 year of verifiable driving experience

• Must meet the licensing standards for this specific position

• Able to pass a pre-employment drug test and health screening

• CVOR, driver's abstract and a copy of your license required at the interview

• Employment reference and criminal record checks will be conducted

• PPE is required and will be provided by Erb Group
