About this job
Our company, a diversified exterior construction company in the Greater Toronto Area, needs an AZ Float Driver. You'll haul heavy construction equipment using a tractor or dump truck with a trailer, reporting to the Foreman.
What you'll do
- Move float equipment to job sites on schedule, accounting for traffic and weather
- Keep dispatchers, foremen and supervisors updated on your progress
- Wear required safety gear on site
- Maintain your equipment according to company and manufacturer standards
- Follow Transport Canada, MTO and other applicable trucking regulations, including logbooks, weight limits, cargo securement and Highway Traffic Act rules
- Take on other tasks as assigned by operations staff
Requirements
- Valid AZ license
- Background check completed within the past 30 days
- At least 3 years running a tri-axle and/or tractor
- Able to operate construction machinery
- Strong safety mindset and comfort driving in all weather and traffic conditions
- Team player who can handle a fast-paced work environment
- Solid understanding of CVOR rules: logbooks, hours of service, cargo securement, pre-trip and trip inspections
