AZ Float Driver — $30.00–$35.30/hr

Our company in Ajax, ON is looking for a skilled AZ Float Driver to haul heavy equipment and materials safely. This is a full-time role working closely with dispatch and the team.

Pay

• $30.00-$35.30 per hour

What you'll haul

• Heavy equipment and materials, delivered safely and on schedule

• You'll need to hook up and unhook the low-boy float and tractor using the "Pup" engine

What the job involves

• Driving company trucks to multiple job sites

• Loading and unloading cargo per safety guidelines

• Planning your routes to hit delivery windows

• Checking your vehicle for mechanical problems and handling minor upkeep

• Keeping your logbook current and accurate

• Staying in touch with dispatchers, customers and coworkers

• Following all traffic rules

Requirements

• Valid Class AZ Licence with a clean record

• Comfortable driving both manual and automatic transmission trucks

• A CVOR abstract dated within the last 30 days, submitted with your application

• Previous hands-on experience as a Float Driver/Operator

• Basic mechanical and maintenance know-how is a plus

• Experience running forklifts, telehandlers, scissor lifts, double drum rollers or other heavy/construction equipment is a bonus

• Living near Ajax, Ontario (Hwy 401 & Brock Rd.) is preferred

• Open to occasional Saturday shifts

You'll be asked whether you have experience operating a manual transmission semi truck as part of the application.
