About this job
Our company is looking for an owner-operator with a flatbed truck to haul freight between Canada and the U.S., based out of the GTA in Mississauga, ON. You'll run within about a 1000-mile radius of the GTA, crossing the border at Detroit, with year-round work available. Five positions are open.
What you'll haul
- Steel: beams, coils and plates
- Building products: lumber, shingles and stone
- Rolltite trailers are used, so tarping isn't required
Pay
- Gross pay is $30,000 per month
- 30% is taken off to cover dispatch, trailer rental, insurance, tolls and IFTA
- Fuel cards are supplied
- Additional deductions apply for disability insurance, Prepass and DTOPS
What the job involves
- Securing loads with chains, straps and other tie-down equipment
- Driving safely and responsibly at all times
- Completing trip envelopes
- Staying in contact with dispatch, customers and shippers/receivers
- Crossing the U.S./Canada border as part of your routes
- Using the Samsara ELD system
Requirements
- Valid AZ license with at least 2 years of driving experience
- Able to cross into the United States
- Clean CVOR and driver's abstract
- Minimum age of 25
- Comfortable with cross-border runs
- Must supply an ELD-compatible truck
