AZ Flatbed Long-Haul Truck Driver — $27.00/hr

Our company in Hagersville, ON needs a long-haul flatbed driver to run extended-length tractor-trailer and B-train combinations, often paired with a teammate or in convoy, including cross-border and international trips.

Pay

• $27.00 per hour

• Full-time, permanent position

What you'll haul

• Flatbed loads on extended length tractor-trailers and tractor-trailer B-trains

• You'll load and unload freight as part of the job

What the job involves

• Running routes solo with a partner or as part of a convoy

• Checking your rig before, during and after each trip (tires, lights, brakes and more) and keeping up with preventive maintenance

• Staying in touch with dispatch throughout your shift

• Logging cargo details, hours, distance and fuel use

• Handling paperwork such as logbooks, bills of lading, inspection and maintenance reports, trip reports, trans-border documents, and reports for accidents, incidents or dangerous goods

• Helping customers with questions or issues and sharing tips with fellow drivers

• Shifts can fall early morning, daytime, evening or overnight, including weekends, with overtime sometimes required

Requirements

• AZ class license (Class 1/1F/A) with air brake endorsement (Z)

• Comfortable driving manual transmission

• Valid passport for cross-border travel

• Must pass a criminal record check, drug test and medical exam

• Able to handle heavy, repetitive work, including lifting up to 23 kg and long periods of sitting

• English language skills

• Prior experience is a plus but not mandatory

• Must be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a valid Canadian work permit as a temporary resident - applicants without Canadian work authorization won't hear back
