About this job
Our company is looking for an AZ licensed driver to run end dump tandem and tri-axle trailers across the US-Canada border out of Grimsby, ON. This is hands-on bulk and dump freight work that involves physical loading, unloading and trailer maintenance.
What you'll haul
- Bulk and dump products using tandem and tri-axle dump trailers
What you'll do
- Complete pre-trip inspections, including releasing the king pin and operating dolly legs
- Load and unload bulk materials at various facilities, often on uneven ground
- Open and close trailer tarps using a tarp crank
- Sweep and clean trailers after unloading, including removing frozen product
- Remove the 10 cross bows along the trailer top using a hammer
- Handle logbooks, customs paperwork and trip envelopes
- Fuel the truck and keep the cab clean
- Use an electronic logging device (Peoplenet)
- Watch axle weights and maximize load sizes
- Coordinate with dispatch, customers, safety and maintenance teams
Requirements
- Valid AZ license
- Able to cross the US-Canada border regularly
- At least 1 year of heavy haul experience, or 3 years of over-the-road experience
- Clean CVOR and driver's abstract
- Must pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
- Physically fit to climb about 12 feet in and out of dump trailers multiple times a day
- Able to lift 20 to 25 kg of material repeatedly during loading and unloading
