About this job
Our company is hiring an AZ licensed company driver to run tandem and tri-axle end dump trailers across the Canada/US border. This role involves hands-on physical work loading, tarping and cleaning dump trailers at various facilities.
What you'll haul
- Bulk and dump freight using tandem and tri-axle dump trailers
- Routes that cross between Canada and the United States
What the job involves
- Pre-trip inspections, including releasing the king pin and operating dolly legs
- Opening and closing trailer tarps using a crank system
- Sweeping out trailers after unloading, including removing frozen product
- Taking out cross bows from the top of the trailer using a hammer
- Climbing in and out of the tractor and trailer multiple times a day
- Handling malfunctioning equipment like stuck doors or tarping issues
- Maximizing load sizes while staying aware of axle weight limits
- Completing logbooks, customs paperwork and trip envelopes
- Fueling the truck and keeping the cab clean
- Logging hours electronically with Peoplenet
Requirements
- Valid AZ license
- At least 1 year of heavy haul experience, or 3 years of over-the-road experience
- Ability to cross the Canada/US border
- Good CVOR and clean driver's abstract
- Physically able to climb about 12 feet in and out of dump trailers several times daily
- Able to lift 20 to 25 kg of material repeatedly
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
