Our company in Grimsby, ON is looking for an AZ licensed driver to run end dump tandem and tri-axle trailers across the Canada-US border. This role involves hands-on physical work loading, unloading and maintaining dump trailers in addition to driving.
What you'll haul
- Bulk and dump freight using tandem and tri-axle dump trailers
- Cross-border runs between Canada and the United States
Responsibilities
- Perform pre-trip inspections, including releasing the king pin and operating dolly legs
- Load and unload bulk materials and operate the trailer tarp system
- Sweep out and clean trailers, including removing frozen product
- Remove the 10 cross bows along the trailer top with a hammer as needed
- Climb in and out of the tractor and trailer multiple times per day
- Handle logbooks, customs paperwork and trip envelopes
- Fuel the truck, keep the cab clean, and use the Peoplenet electronic logging device
- Watch axle weights and maximize load sizes
- Report any equipment defects
Requirements
- Valid AZ license
- At least 1 year of heavy haul experience, or 3 years of over-the-road experience
- Able to physically climb 12 feet in and out of dump trailers multiple times a day
- Able to lift 20 to 25 kg of material repeatedly
- Clean CVOR and driver's abstract
- Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Able to cross the Canada-US border regularly
