About this job
Our company is looking for experienced AZ drivers to run cross-border HAZMAT tanker loads for their Chemical division out of the GTA. Expect longer hauls across a 500-mile radius, with freight heading to the mid-west, the Carolinas, GA, TX, LA, the eastern US/Canada and Western Canada.
Routes and schedule
- Head hauls start in the GTA and run out across multiple regions, with no dedicated lanes - you'll work an open board
- Plan to be away from home 5 nights a week, out on the road for most of the week
What you'll haul
- HAZMAT chemical tanker freight
- Multi-axle trailers, so you'll need a solid grasp of weight compliance
- The job involves climbing onto trailers to work the hatches (fall protection gear supplied) and handling 70-pound hoses that need to be pushed and pulled into place
Requirements
- At least 5 years of verifiable AZ driving experience
- A valid FAST card, with eligibility to cross into the US
- Comfortable with irregular routes and no set lane assignments
- Physically able to climb on trailers and manage heavy hoses
Pay and bonuses
- $1000 bonus for signing on
- Annual bonus tied to safety performance
- Pay deposited every two weeks
Benefits
- US emergency medical coverage starting on your first day
- Paid orientation and training you'll do on the job
- Consistent freight volumes all year
- $200 yearly uniform allowance
- Monthly allowance for your cell phone
- Dental and health coverage, with the company covering 75% of the cost
- Your own assigned tractor, equipped with SiriusXM
Extra perks
- Dispatch and compliance help available around the clock
- Access to maintenance shops throughout Ontario and Quebec
- Wash bays at most terminal locations
- Electronic logging through PeopleNet
