About this job
Our company is growing its Intra-ON/QC Corridor/Local team out of Prescott and needs licensed tractor-trailer drivers for night shifts. You'll sleep in your own bed every night while running steady corridor and local freight, hired on as a direct employee, not a contractor.
Schedule and routes
- Night shift starting at 5 pm, with shifts running 11-13 hours
- You must have proven experience working safely at night
- Routes run mainly between Prescott and the Mississauga or Montreal areas, with some local work as needed
- You need to be comfortable operating in Montreal
- No border crossings on this position
- Parking is based out of our company's Prescott terminal
Pay
- Pay combines hourly, activity-based and mileage rates
- Drivers typically earn $66-72K per year in total compensation
- Paid bi-weekly by direct deposit
What you'll haul
- About 90% of loads are trailer switches, with some customer pickups and deliveries mixed in
- Freight includes meat, dairy, tobacco and alcohol, so you need to be willing to haul these given the customer base
- No-touch freight, no handbombing required
- You'll drive a slip-seated, non-smoking tractor
Requirements
- Valid AZ license with recent, verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Candidates with a year or more of AZ experience will be given preference
