About this job
Our company is hiring a Class 1 (AZ) truck driver for local and regional container transport around the GTA, working evening shifts with some shunting duties. This is a full-time, permanent position with steady hours.
Pay
- From $26.00 per hour
Schedule
- Average of 50 to 60 hours per week
- Local/regional routes in the GTA area
What you'll haul
- Containers on 3-axle trailers
- Container hauling experience is a plus
Requirements
- Valid Class 1 licence
- Driver abstract required with application
- Experience with 3-axle trailers
- Good knowledge of the GTA and surrounding area
- Ability to perform safety inspections correctly
- Keep your truck and trailer clean
- Familiarity with ISAAC system is a plus
What you'll do
- Operate Class 1 trucks to move containers safely
- Perform pre-trip inspections for safety and compliance
- Load and unload freight, including some forklift work
- Keep accurate logs of hours and vehicle maintenance
- Follow traffic laws and company policies
- Communicate with dispatch about schedules and issues
- Handle minor repairs and maintenance on equipment
