About this job
Our company needs a 5 Ton Driver for local pickups and deliveries around greater Victoria. This is a full-time, Tuesday through Saturday schedule with an early start, usually between 8 and 9am.
Pay
- From $25.57 per hour
What you'll haul
- Pickups and deliveries using a 5 Ton truck within the greater Victoria area
- Freight handling may include reefer-controlled food products
What you'll do
- Handle general pickup and delivery tasks, including hand bombing freight and completing related paperwork
- Provide good customer service on your route
- Stay in regular contact with dispatchers and customers
- Report any incidents or safety concerns to your supervisor or dispatch right away
Requirements
- At least 1 year driving a 5 Ton truck
- A clean driver's abstract
- Comfortable driving manual transmission
- Familiar with the greater Victoria area
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Flexible availability for scheduling
- Pallet jack experience
- Understanding of reefer settings and food temperature rules is a plus
