About this job
Our company is hiring a part-time yard switcher in Cambridge, ON to shuttle trailers around the yard and help with package handling as needed. This role requires an interview.
What you'll do
- Shuttle trailers to and from loading and unloading doors throughout the yard
- Help load and unload packages by hand when needed, using proper lifting technique
- Lift, push, pull and carry packages continuously during shifts of two to four hours
- Read labels and scan packages to route them to the correct conveyor
Schedule
- Part-time, Tuesday through Friday 3:30 AM to 9:00 AM, and Saturday 4:30 AM to 10:00 AM
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean record (two or fewer violations or accidents in the past 24 months)
- Full G license needed
- About six months of experience as a package handler or in a switching/CDL role is preferred
- French and English fluency required for applicants based in Quebec
