About this job
This is a full-time night-shift role in Ajax, Ontario that combines yard shunting with shift supervision. You will keep daily transportation operations running and act as the link between drivers, dispatch and the warehouse.
Pay and schedule
- From $26.00 per hour, payroll only, paid weekly by direct deposit
- Full time, Tuesday to Sunday, 12-hour shifts from 5:00pm to 5:00am
What you'll do
- Shunt vehicles in the yard
- Plan routes, manage schedules and keep operational coverage in place
- Keep track of which drivers and equipment are available
- Handle vehicle maintenance routines and arrange service so downtime stays low
- Pass information between drivers, dispatch and warehouse teams
- Prepare reports, keep records up to date and back up the Transportation Supervisor
Requirements
- DZ licence with 3 years of DZ truck driving experience
- 1 year of shunting experience
- Clean driver's abstract and a CVOR current within 30 days
- Background in trucking and transportation, with working knowledge of the basic rules and regulations
- Strong computer skills, especially Microsoft products
- Good communication skills, able to multitask in a busy setting and work on your own as well as with a team
