About this job
Our company in Victoria, BC is looking for a truck driver to move freight between warehouses, distribution centers and customer sites. You will be responsible for safe operation of the vehicle, proper handling of cargo and clear communication with dispatch along the way.
Pay
- $250.00 per day
What you'll do
- Drive heavy-duty trucks on routes connecting warehouses, distribution centers and customers
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to confirm safety and regulatory compliance
- Load and unload freight, including heavy lifting to secure items for the trip
- Follow traffic laws, safety rules and company procedures on every delivery
- Keep delivery logs, route records and receipts accurate and up to date
- Stay in contact with dispatchers and customers to coordinate timing and sort out any issues
- Check on vehicle condition and flag mechanical problems right away
Requirements
- Experience driving large or commercial trucks, with a clean driving record
- Able to lift heavy items safely as part of loading and unloading
- Solid understanding of traffic laws and commercial driving safety practices
- Strong time management to hit delivery windows
- Clear, professional communication with coworkers and customers
- Physical endurance for long days on the road and hands-on loading work
- Careful attention to detail for recordkeeping and safety compliance
