About this job
Our company, an asset-based carrier running out of Abbotsford, Calgary, and Edmonton, is looking for a team of company drivers for open-board cross-border runs. You'll move full truckloads of refrigerated and dry van freight between Western Canada and the Western US.
Pay
- $7,500.00-$8,500.00 per month
Where you'll run
- Open board lanes across BC and Alberta, including Calgary, Edmonton, Kamloops, Kelowna, and Northern BC points like Prince George, Prince Rupert, Williams Lake, Terrace, and Quesnel
- Highway 3 corridor, plus runs into Washington, California, and Oregon
What you'll haul
- Full truckload freight in reefer and dry van trailers
What you'll do
- Drive long-haul routes safely while meeting delivery timelines
- Complete daily pre-trip checks and routine vehicle maintenance inspections
- Secure loads properly and keep cargo safe in transit
- Follow all traffic laws and company safety procedures
- Deal directly with customers in a professional manner
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver's license and a clean record
- At least 2 years of commercial driving experience
- Comfortable with long-haul driving in winter and mountain conditions, including chaining up
- Solid route-planning and map-reading skills
- Able to work independently and manage time to hit deadlines
- Physically able to handle long hours on the road
