FedEx is looking for a Switcher in Edmonton, AB to move trailers between load and unload doors and around the yard. You may also help load, unload and sort packages by hand. This is a full-time role for OTP/OB at YELA, and it's an interview position.
What you'll do
- Move trailers to and from loading and unloading doors and throughout the yard
- Lift, push, pull, carry and place packages safely and efficiently when needed
- Use hand-to-surface techniques to load and unload packages from vehicles, trailers, conveyor carts and load gratings
- Handle repetitive lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling for shifts of about two to four hours
- Scan packages, read labels and charts, and sort them onto the correct conveyor system
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (two or fewer violations or accidents in the past 24 months)
- Six months of experience as a package handler or in switching/CDL operation is preferred
- Must pass required testing, training and annual accreditation, and be comfortable working in a PC Windows environment
- Available to work varying shifts based on business needs
- Bilingual in French and English if based in Quebec
