About this job
Our company needs a truck driver working within an 85-mile radius of Catawba, NC, covering plant-to-plant moves and customer deliveries. You'll be back home every week and paid well for your time on the road.
Pay
- $0.66 per mile while wheels are rolling
- An annual safety bonus worth 2 cents per mile
- Extra pay when you're held up on layovers, stops, breakdowns, or detention
Home time
- Weekly home time is built into the schedule
What you'll haul
- You may run a tractor-trailer, a straight truck, or another company vehicle depending on the day's needs
- Dropping and hooking trailers is part of the job
- You'll load and secure freight correctly, keeping gross and axle weights in mind
Requirements
- A valid CDL issued by your home state
- A minimum of 110,000 verifiable OTR miles logged in the past 2.5 years
- Compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Ability to lift items weighing up to 100 pounds
Responsibilities
- Run pre-trip and post-trip inspections on your vehicle each day
- Keep your logs and documentation accurate
- Stay in contact with plant staff to keep operations running smoothly
- Maintain a clean, sanitary vehicle
