About this job
Our company is hiring a part-time Courier/Handler in Barrie, Ontario. You will load and unload vehicles and aircraft, sort parcels, run local pickups and deliveries in a 5 ton truck, and help customers along the way. This is an interview position.
Pay
- $22.44 per hour to start; the start wage may not apply to current FedEx employees.
Schedule
- Tuesday to Friday, 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
- Saturday, 9:30 am to 5:00 pm.
- Be ready to work other shifts and holidays as the business requires.
What you'll do
- Load and unload aircraft and delivery vehicles.
- Sort packages and make deliveries and pickups.
- Check that shipments meet our company service rules.
- Handle customer questions and related service tasks.
Requirements
- A full Class G licence; G2 is not accepted.
- Comfort driving a 5 ton truck.
- No more than two violations or accidents on your record in the last 24 months.
- A passing result on the mandatory pre-placement driver assessment.
- Able to lift 70 lbs and move parcels up to 150 lbs using proper equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of customer-focused work experience is preferred; knowledge of our company operations and customs rules is an asset.
- Strong communication, time management and customer service skills, and the ability to work under pressure.
