Part-Time CDL-B Hiker/Vehicle Transporter — Flexible Hours

Penske Truck Leasing is looking for a part-time Hiker to move vehicles between Penske locations and customer sites in Riviera Beach, FL. This is casual, on-call work, with hours ranging from 0 to 25 per week depending on business needs. You'll mainly drive box trucks up to 26 feet, and if you hold a CDL Class A, you may also move tractors and trailers. You might also help the service department deliver parts and equipment.

What you'll do

• Drive trucks safely to Penske or customer locations, following proper safety steps

• Inspect vehicles for mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment issues and report any problems to the location manager

• Collect signatures, receipts, or payment when required

• Report any accidents, traffic violations, defects, or vehicle damage

• Take on other tasks assigned by your supervisor

Schedule

Work is on-call and part-time, with flexible hours between 0 and 25 per week based on demand.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of driving experience

• A clean driving record for the past 2 years

• A valid Class B CDL (Class A preferred); you must live in the U.S. and be licensed in your state of residence

• Ability to read and follow written instructions

• Strong customer service and organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to work independently

• English language proficiency, as required under federal regulation 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)

• Reliable, consistent attendance

• Willingness to maintain a driver qualification file, including a yearly motor vehicle record check, a DOT physical, and a safety history review from employers over the last 3 years; CDL holders must also pass a DOT drug screening within 30 days of starting and are subject to FMCSA Clearinghouse checks

• Willingness to travel as needed, work required hours and locations, complete a Penske application, and pass a background check and drug screening

This role falls under DOT safety regulations, so you'll need to stay alert and work safely at all times, taking responsibility for your own safety and that of others.

Physical demands

You'll need good vision (close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment) and hearing. The job involves frequent standing, walking, sitting, and moving, along with reaching and using your hands. You should be able to lift up to 50 lbs/23 kg regularly and up to 100 lbs/45 kg occasionally, and be able to safely get in and out of the vehicle and its rear cargo area.
