Part-Time CDL-B Hiker/Vehicle Transporter — $22-$23/hr

Penske is looking for a part-time Hiker to move vehicles between its Everett, WA location and customer sites. You'll mostly drive box trucks up to 26 feet, with CDL-A holders also moving tractors and trailers, and you may occasionally help the service team deliver parts and equipment.

Schedule

This is a casual, on-call role with hours ranging from 0 to 25 per week depending on business needs. The regular shift runs Tuesday through Friday, 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm.

Pay

• CDL-A: $23.00 per hour plus shift differential

• CDL-B: $22.00 per hour plus shift differential

What you'll do

• Drive trucks safely to Penske locations or customer sites

• Inspect vehicles for mechanical, safety and emergency equipment issues and report problems to the location manager

• Get signatures or receipts for deliveries and collect payment when needed

• Report any accidents, damage, defects or traffic violations involving the vehicles

• Take on other tasks assigned by your supervisor

Requirements

• At least 2 years of driving experience

• A clean driving record for the past 2 years

• Valid Class B CDL (Class A preferred); you must live in the U.S. and hold a license in your state of residence

• Able to read and follow written instructions, work independently, and bring strong customer service and organizational skills

• English language proficiency, as required under 49 C.F.R. 391.11(b)(2)

• Reliable, consistent attendance

• Willingness to maintain a current DOT driver qualification file, including an annual MVR check, DOT physical, prior employer safety history, and for CDL holders, a drug screen within 30 days of starting plus FMCSA Clearinghouse review

• Open to traveling as needed, working the set schedule and location, and completing a background check and drug screening

This is a DOT-regulated, safety-sensitive position, so you'll need to stay alert and work safely at all times, looking out for your own safety and that of others.

Physical demands

You'll need good vision and hearing, the ability to stand, walk, sit and move often, and the strength to regularly lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg). You must be able to safely and frequently get in and out of the cab and cargo area.
