About this job
Our company in Massey, MD needs a part-time feed truck driver to haul feed to local farms. You can pick day shift (6am-6pm) or night shift (6pm-6am), with some flexibility in days and hours.
What you'll haul
- Bulk feed, picked up from the correct bin and delivered to the right farm and bin number
- Loads that can reach a Gross Weight of 95,000 lbs at times
What you'll do
- Check your truck before and after each trip to keep it safe to drive
- Pull a sample from every order and follow the feed sampling procedure, wearing the required safety gear
- Get deliveries to farms on time and handle the unloading
- Clean up and report any feed spills
- Keep your truck tidy and tell your supervisor about any mechanical issues
- Keep a neat appearance and represent the company well on the road and at farms
- Flag any customer concerns that come up
- Help keep CSA scores strong through careful, compliant driving
- Work outside in rain, snow, heat or cold, including about 30 minutes of unloading time at each farm stop
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL with a clean driving record
- Air Brakes endorsement
- Able to pass a DOT physical and drug screen
- Comfortable working in dusty conditions
- Able to handle changing road conditions like winter weather
- Able to work consistently at 15 foot heights and climb ladders
- Able to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs
- Basic math skills
- Open to flexible scheduling when needed
