Part-Time CDL-A City Driver — 5 PM Start, $36.48/Hr

PITT OHIO, a family-owned carrier, is hiring a part-time CDL-A city driver for its Hamilton, NJ location. You'll handle local pickups and deliveries of general freight on a set evening schedule.

Pay

• Starting from $36.48/hr

Schedule

• Monday through Friday

• Shift begins at 5 PM

What you'll do

• Operate a commercial tractor-trailer safely to pick up and deliver general freight

• Load and unload trailers yourself or with dock help, using equipment where available

• Lift, push, pull and carry freight regularly, and secure loads with straps or other methods as needed

• Check your vehicle before trips for defects and safe operating condition

• Follow all federal Hazmat transport rules and hours-of-service limits

• Keep accurate logs and records as required by state and federal law

Requirements

• Two years of verifiable interstate driving experience, or one year plus a diploma from a PITT OHIO-approved driving school

• Must pass a company driving test given by an approved PITT OHIO trainer

• Haz-Mat and Tanker endorsements required within 90 days of hire (not required for sprinter drivers)

• Only one valid driver's license, issued by your state of residence; must disclose any licenses held in the past 36 months

• No license suspension or revocation over 30 days in the past 36 months (exceptions for non-moving violations without a driving-while-suspended conviction)

• No serious traffic violation convictions in the past 60 months

• No more than three moving violations in the past 36 months, and no more than one at-fault accident plus two violations in that same period

• Must pass a DOT physical and a pre-employment drug screen, both with clean results

• Clean controlled substance and alcohol record from past employers over the last three years, with no refusals to test

• Consent to a ten-year work history check; gaps of 30+ days must be explained and may require documentation

• Able to read and write English and do basic math

• Consent to use of driver-facing cameras in company vehicles

• Employment is at-will

Note: CDL holders must register with the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse if they haven't already.
