About this job
Our company is looking for a reliable over-the-road truck driver to haul freight across long-distance routes, keeping deliveries on schedule and staying compliant with federal and state trucking rules.
What you'll do
- Drive tractor-trailers on OTR routes, following FMCSA and DOT rules at all times
- Load and unload cargo, including hazardous materials when the job calls for it
- Plan your routes with GPS to stay on time and save fuel
- Keep accurate records of pickups, deliveries, and vehicle inspections
- Check your truck before and after each trip to catch maintenance or safety problems early
Schedule
This is an over-the-road position, with trips lasting about 3 weeks before you return.
Requirements
- At least 3 months of commercial driving experience, including long-distance and delivery routes
- A clean driving record going back at least 5 years
- Solid understanding of FMCSA and DOT rules, plus hazardous materials and dangerous goods handling
- Strong safety-focused driving skills and awareness of road hazards
