OTR Truck Driver — $20–$30/hr

Our company in Detroit, MI is looking for an over-the-road truck driver comfortable handling a mix of equipment types. You'll run varied freight, including hazmat loads, while keeping safety and compliance front and center.

Pay

• $20.00 to $30.00 per hour

What you'll haul

• Tractor-trailers, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds and tankers

• Freight moved on over-the-road routes

• Hazardous materials and dangerous goods, handled per FMCSA rules

What the job involves

• Loading and unloading cargo using proper handling methods

• Planning routes and navigating with GPS

• Keeping accurate logs of hours, deliveries and cargo manifests per DOT rules

• Running pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections

• Staying in contact with dispatch on routes, schedules and any issues on the road

Requirements

• Solid background driving commercial trucks, including delivery and route work

• Comfortable with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers and auto-transport equipment

• Strong grasp of FMCSA and DOT rules, hazmat regulations and safety procedures

• Able to confidently drive a manual transmission

• Experienced with cargo loading, unloading and manual handling

• Comfortable using GPS systems to plan and follow routes

• Clean driving record with a strong safety and compliance history
