About this job
Our company, a family-run drayage carrier in Detroit, MI, is adding 4 drivers to run local and regional container freight. Most stops are within 50 miles, with occasional runs out to 250-300 miles.
Pay
- $27.00 - $30.00 per hour, paid as 1099
- Rate moves up to $30/hour as you gain experience
- Expect around 65 hours per week
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, with weekends optional
- Shifts run roughly 12 to 14 hours, starting between 5:00 and 6:00 AM
- You'll be back home every day
What you'll haul
- Local and regional container freight
- Automatic 2016-2018 Volvo tractors, company-maintained equipment with dedicated dispatch and mechanic support
Requirements
- Current Class A CDL with a clean driving history
- Prior experience driving trucks, routes, or deliveries commercially
- Container hauling background is a strong plus
- Comfortable with manual freight handling and securement
- Experience with autos, reefers, flatbeds, tankers, OTR, or hazmat is a bonus but not required
