About this job
Our company is hiring an OTR box truck driver out of Orlando, FL to run regional and national routes. This role is set up as a 1099 independent contractor position, and you won't need a CDL to qualify.
Pay
- $175 to $200 per day
What you'll haul
- General freight moved by box truck, loaded and secured using load bars and ratchet straps
What the job involves
- Running your routes safely and staying within traffic laws
- Handling freight on and off the truck by hand or with a pallet jack, which can mean lifting heavy items from time to time
- Treating customers well at each stop
- Checking your vehicle before trips and staying on top of basic upkeep
- Mapping out your route so deliveries land on time
- Keeping your delivery records and paperwork in order
- Staying in touch with dispatch and customers on delivery updates
Requirements
- A valid driver's license (no CDL needed)
- Commercial driving background is a plus, but not required
- Comfortable lifting heavy freight and operating a pallet jack
- Solid customer service skills
- Familiarity with hours of service rules helps
