OTR Flatbed Truck Driver — Home Every 10–14 Days

Haul flatbed freight on long-distance routes mainly through the Midwest, South and Southeast, with occasional cross-country runs, based out of Detroit, MI 48243. You'll only need to be in Detroit for orientation, equipment pickup, or scheduled check-ins; the rest of the time you're on the road.

Pay

• $75,000.00 to $100,444.67 per year

Home time

• Home every 10 to 14 days, with flexibility for drivers who perform well

What you'll haul

• Flatbed tractor-trailer loads across the country

• You choose your loads: there's no forced dispatch

What the job involves

• Running OTR routes while following FMCSA and DOT rules

• Tying down and securing loads correctly, including tarping where needed

• Using GPS to plan efficient, fuel-smart routes and logging your hours and rest breaks accurately

• Checking your truck before, during and after each trip to catch maintenance or safety issues early

• Keeping accurate paperwork on deliveries, loading/unloading, inspections and compliance

Requirements

• Solid commercial driving background with flatbed experience

• Familiarity with FMCSA and DOT rules, plus cargo securement standards under 49 CFR Part 393 Subpart I (tie-downs, working load limits, tarping)

• Comfortable with GPS-based trip planning for long hauls

• Able to drive both manual and automatic transmissions

• Clean driving record; prior delivery experience helpful for dealing with customers

• Works well independently and communicates clearly with dispatch and customers

• Must be proficient in English for safety and compliance purposes
