About this job
Our company is looking for a CDL-A driver to haul freight on over-the-road routes using refrigerated trailers. You'll handle long-distance runs and need to be comfortable with manual transmission trucks and hands-on cargo work.
What you'll haul
- Refrigerated trailers on OTR lanes, with exposure to flatbed, tanker and hazmat loads as needed
- Loading, securing and unloading freight, including manual handling when required
What you'll do
- Run long-haul routes safely and on schedule, following FMCSA and DOT rules
- Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks
- Use GPS tools to plan routes and adjust for traffic or conditions
- Keep accurate logs, delivery paperwork and reports
- Stay in touch with dispatch on route progress and any delivery issues
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A with a clean driving history
- Solid tractor-trailer and route-driving background
- Comfortable with manual transmission trucks
- Working knowledge of refrigerated, flatbed, tanker and hazmat handling rules
- Able to safely lift and move freight by hand when needed
