About this job
Our company is hiring an over-the-road driver based out of Grand Forks, ND to move product in liquid, loose or packaged form. You will drive safely, follow all traffic and DOT rules, and keep loads moving efficiently. Travel is up to 75% of the time.
What you'll do
- Haul assigned freight while keeping fuel use and loading practices efficient
- Check your truck for defects before and after each trip and report its condition
- Get your daily load times and locations and drive to each destination
- Keep your driver log current under DOT rules
- Check tires, lights, brakes, fuel, oil and water regularly
- Get the truck or trailer in for scheduled maintenance
Requirements
- Class A CDL with the right endorsements and a good driving record
- Five years of verifiable over-the-road experience; reefer trailer experience is strongly preferred
- Age 21 or older because of travel requirements
- Ability to get and keep entry eligibility into Canada
- Valid DOT medical certification and DOT qualifications
- High school diploma or GED, though a mix of education and experience may be considered
- Able to back into and maneuver around tight areas, hook and unhook the trailer, and lift up to 25 pounds
