Run long-haul reefer freight along the East and West Coasts with our company, based out of Summit, IL. This OTR role offers steady weekly mileage and mileage-based pay, with extra pay for stops and detention.
Pay
- $0.78 per mile on East Coast reefer loads and $0.72 per mile on West Coast reefer loads.
- Weekly earnings typically range from $2,600.00 to $3,600.00.
- Extra stops are compensated separately.
- Detention time is also paid.
- May involve a 1099 independent contractor setup, if applicable.
What you'll haul
- Refrigerated (reefer) trailers, running coast-to-coast routes.
- Typical weekly mileage exceeds 4,000 miles.
Schedule and home time
- Over-the-road driving with routes across multiple states.
- Be ready for layovers and occasional extended stops away from home.
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A with a clean driving history.
- Solid OTR experience, ideally hauling reefer loads.
- Comfortable driving long distances safely while keeping to tight delivery windows.
- Able to complete required pre-trip and post-trip vehicle checks.
- Familiar with hours-of-service rules and DOT logging requirements.
- Good communication with dispatch about load status, delays or any problems on the road.
- Willing to take on extra stops or layovers when they come up.
