About this job
Inter-Commerce Express, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is looking for an experienced OTR CDL-A driver to run regional and sometimes nationwide flatbed loads. You'll haul for our company and other customers across the lower 48, mostly on flatbed but occasionally dry van or reefer depending on customer needs.
Pay
- Paid $0.61 CPM or a load percentage, whichever applies.
- Quarterly bonuses tied to performance and safety.
- Most drivers bring home $80k-$100k per year.
Home time
- Home every weekend, with no Sunday work.
- Depending on how loads line up, you'll often get an extra night or more off during the week.
What you'll haul
- Mainly flatbed freight requiring securing and tarping, with occasional help loading or unloading.
- The fleet runs modern sleeper trucks paired with a variety of custom multi-axle trailers built for heavy and oversized loads.
Requirements
- Valid CDL-A with a clean driving history.
- Current DOT medical card.
- Minimum 3 years of experience driving multi-axle equipment.
- Flatbed experience is a plus.
- Able to lift 50 pounds or more.
- Must pass a substance-abuse screening.
- Comfortable with overnight runs and a flexible schedule, including being away the full week when needed.
You'll also be expected to keep accurate logs and trip paperwork, complete pre- and post-trip DVIR inspections, follow DOT/FMCSA rules, respect each job site's PPE rules, and represent the company professionally with customers and vendors.
