OTR CDL-A Driver — $0.80/mi, Home for 34-Hour Reset (IL)

Run OTR freight out of the Chicago area for our company, with reliable home time on your 34-hour reset for Illinois-based drivers. This is a 1099 contractor position with strong weekly mile guarantees.

Pay

• $0.80 per mile, or 30% of gross revenue

• Guaranteed 2,500-3,000 weekly miles for steady income

• Paid by direct deposit every Friday

• Operate under a 1099 setup; the company will help you open a business account if you need one

Home time

• Illinois drivers get home for their 34-hour reset

What you'll haul

• Dry van trailers

• Regional lanes within about 700 miles of Chicago, covering the Midwest and parts of the South

Deductions and fees

• Refundable $1,000 security deposit, taken in $100 chunks from your first 10 paychecks, returned 45 days after you leave

• Occupational insurance costs $37 per week and covers up to $10,000

Equipment

• 2023-2025 Freightliner and Volvo trucks

• APU, inverter, fridge, microwave and a tablet in every truck

• Roadside-facing dash cams only, so your personal privacy is protected

• Fuel cards and I-Pass/Pike-Pass provided

Bonuses and extra pay

• $100 layover pay

• $20 per hour detention pay after the first 2 hours

Requirements

• Valid CDL-A

• At least 6 months of CDL-A experience, including 1 year of OTR experience

• Clean driving record: no SAP, DUI/DWI or reckless driving violations

• Willing and able to work as a 1099 contractor (help available to set up your business account)

• Drop and hook experience is asked about during the application
