OTR Box Truck Driver (26 ft) — 1099 — $1,300–$2,000/wk

Our company needs an OTR box truck driver to run a 26 ft truck as a 1099 independent contractor, handling freight from pickup to delivery across assigned routes.

Pay

• $1,300.00 to $2,000.00 per week

• Independent contractor (1099) arrangement

What you'll haul

• Freight moved in a 26 ft box truck over the road

• You'll load and unload using pallet jacks and other material handling gear, following safe lifting practices

• Freight must be loaded and secured properly to avoid transit damage, including when manual transmission is involved

What you'll do

• Drive assigned routes while following DOT rules and traffic laws

• Keep to delivery schedules

• Deal directly with customers, delivering professionally and collecting signatures or proof of delivery as needed

• Check the truck before and after each trip to catch maintenance or safety problems early

• Keep delivery logs and route records up to date, including DOT-related weight documentation

Requirements

• Background in truck driving, delivery driving or courier work involving heavy lifting

• Solid grasp of safe driving routes, traffic law compliance and proper lifting techniques

• Comfortable and confident handling a box truck

• Strong, professional customer service skills

• Able to use a mobile device for navigation, communication and paperwork

• Understanding of DOT rules covering commercial vehicles and workplace weight handling
