Non-CDL Paratransit Driver — $22.66/hr Union Pay Scale

Our company is looking for a paratransit operator to drive passengers safely around Baltimore, Maryland, working out of their Sisson Street and E. Lombard Street locations. This is a union role covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Pay and schedule

• $22.66/hour under the Union Collective Bargaining Agreement pay scale

• Paid training provided

• Flexible work schedules, with annual pay increases

• Holiday pay starts after 90 calendar days

What you'll do

• Drive passengers around Baltimore and nearby areas, sticking closely to assigned routes, schedules and safety rules

• Welcome riders aboard, collect fares, and help them board, ride and get off safely and comfortably

• Check your vehicle before and after each trip, flag any maintenance concerns, and keep it clean with safety gear ready to go

• Follow company rules on seat belts, emergency procedures and other regulations

• Take on other related tasks as needed

Requirements

• At least 20 years old

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent

• Valid Maryland driver's license

• At least 3 years of driving experience with a clean record

• Able to pass a background check

• Strong communication and customer service abilities

• Open availability, including days, evenings, weekends and overnight shifts

• Must pass DOT drug testing and physical exams, including pre-employment and random screening; note that cannabis and other Schedule I drugs are not permitted under DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40, regardless of state law

• Eligible to work in the U.S. without needing sponsorship, now or later

Physical demands

• Comfortable working outdoors in all kinds of weather

• Able to sit for long stretches and walk on uneven or sloped ground

• Capable of pushing or pulling 50 to 100 pounds and lifting up to 20 pounds

• Able to bend, kneel or crouch to help passengers

• Comfortable working in busy traffic conditions
