About this job

Our company needs a reliable OTR box truck driver to run a 26-foot automatic Freightliner M2 106, no CDL needed. You'll be out for extended stretches hauling palletized freight mainly across the Southeast and Midwest, with occasional Northeast loads, starting from the Atlanta, GA area.

Pay

  • You're paid 20% of the truck's weekly gross revenue, issued weekly.
  • Weekly bonuses stack on top based on the truck's gross for that week, and you get only the highest one you qualify for (they don't combine): $6,000 gross earns an extra $75, $7,000 gross earns an extra $150, and $8,000 or more gross earns an extra $225.
  • For example, an $8,000 weekly gross works out to $1,600 in base pay plus a $300 bonus, for $1,900 total.
  • Weekly earnings typically range from $750.00 to $1,600.00.

Home time

You'll be home every other week. This truck has no sleeper, so hotel stays are part of life on the road during OTR runs.

Lodging costs

The company pays up to $70 per night for your hotel. Anything above that gets split evenly between you and the company — for instance, on a $95 room, the company covers the first $70 and you and the company each pay $12.50 of the remaining $25.

What you'll haul

You'll run a 26-foot automatic Freightliner M2 106 fitted with a liftgate, pallet jack, e-track and load bars. The freight is mostly palletized commercial goods — household moves are not part of this job.

What the job involves

You'll drive safely, hit pickup and delivery windows, stay in touch with dispatch, secure your load properly, complete pre- and post-trip inspections, keep your logs current, follow DOT/FMCSA rules, and look after the truck and gear.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record (no CDL necessary)
  • Current MVR
  • DOT medical card required
  • About 1 year of truck driving experience preferred
  • Prior box truck or similar commercial driving experience is a plus
  • You should be dependable, safety-minded, a steady communicator, and ready for extended time on the road
  • Applicants with a criminal record are welcome to apply

Benefits

  • Fuel card and fuel discount
  • Tolls paid
