About this job
Our company in Columbus, Ohio is hiring a full-time Non-CDL driver to deliver commercial doors, frames and hardware to customer job sites and construction sites. You'll drive a box truck, delivery van or pickup (10,001-25,999 lbs. GVWR), and the job involves hands-on loading and unloading as well as driving.
Pay
- Starts at $20.00 per hour, overtime eligible
- Monthly performance bonus of up to an additional $1.50 per hour
- $500 sign-on bonus
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Full-time
What you'll haul
- Commercial doors, frames and hardware, delivered to commercial construction sites and customer job sites
- You'll handle loading, unloading, carrying and staging materials by hand, with a partner, or using a cart, forklift or crane
- You'll do a pre-trip inspection, check load accuracy and quality, secure loads, pick efficient routes, and complete delivery paperwork with customer signatures
- Back at the warehouse, you'll help load or prep for the next run, keep the vehicle clean, log inspections, and flag any maintenance issues
- You may also help customers load in the yard and pitch in on general warehouse or yard work
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license, clean driving record meeting insurability standards
- Current DOT medical card, or able to get and keep one for the vehicle you'll drive
- Understanding of load limits, truck safety practices and basic vehicle maintenance
- Able to regularly lift, carry and move doors, hardware and related materials up to 100 lbs.
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather, on uneven ground, around jobsite traffic, forklifts and cranes
- Background in building materials, construction, distribution or supply work is a plus, as is familiarity with drywall, insulation, framing, doors or hardware
- Self-driven, positive, hard-working
