Non-CDL Box Truck Delivery Driver — Tacoma, WA

Our company is looking for a non-CDL box truck driver to deliver customer orders in the Tacoma, WA area using a company or rental vehicle.

What you'll do

• Drive your assigned route safely, following traffic laws and delivering orders on time

• Load and unload freight at customer sites with powered and non-powered material handling equipment

• Check order manifests against actual loads to confirm routes and orders are accurate

• Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections per DOT rules and company policy

• Stay in touch with the distribution center about delays like traffic or missing orders

• Keep accurate vehicle and delivery paperwork, update customers on delivery status, and handle or escalate service issues professionally

Work conditions

• Mostly indoor/outdoor comfortable settings, but expect occasional exposure to heat, cold, machinery noise, and fumes

• Physical work is required at times, including walking, standing, bending, climbing, and lifting or moving items that may weigh 50+ pounds

• Overnight travel is rare, under 10% of the time

Requirements

• Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, which the company monitors on an ongoing basis

• No more than 2 minor accidents and no more than 2 moving violations in the past 3 years (preferred)

• Experience delivering goods in a box truck or similar vehicle is a plus

• At least 1 year running material handling equipment is a plus

• Wholesale distribution background is a plus

• High school diploma or GED strongly preferred; 2-5 years of relevant experience generally expected
