Medium Duty Wrecker Operator — $65,000–$85,000/Year

Our company in Red Deer, AB is looking for a full-time Medium Duty Wrecker Operator to join its recovery team. You'll handle vehicle recoveries and roadside assistance for local clients, with pay ranging from $65,000 to $85,000 a year.

What you'll do

• Safely operate wrecker equipment to recover vehicles

• Help customers during stressful roadside situations

• Check and maintain towing equipment regularly

• Stay in contact with dispatch and teammates on job progress

• Follow all required safety rules on scene

• Handle small automotive fixes when needed

• Keep E-Log records up to date

Requirements

• Class 5Q license with air brake (Q) endorsement

• Some commercial driving background

• Mechanically inclined

• Customer service experience, ideally in automotive or towing

• Good familiarity with the Red Deer area

• Strong communication skills, written and verbal

• Clean criminal record check (paid by the company) and a recent driver's abstract (paid by you)

• Must pass a drug, alcohol and fit-to-work screening

• Comfortable working solo or as part of a team

• Eligible to work in Canada

• At least 1 year of professional towing experience preferred

Working conditions

Expect rotating shifts covering days, nights, evenings, weekends and holidays. The work is physically demanding, often outdoors in any weather, with regular lifting, pushing or pulling up to 100 lbs. Some travel across local, provincial and inter-provincial routes may be required, and you may assist emergency crews at accident scenes.
